At ILSM we believe that athletics are a major part of an indepenedent lifestyle. With the support of the Trillium Foundation we are pleased to offer an expanded adapted sports program, which now includes rowing, sailing, and skiing.  For more information, Click here.

 

 

Adapted Rowing

Are you interested in competitive opportunities or general fitness and recreation? Join Independent Living Sudbury Manitoulin for our adapted rowing program and take part in a great sport that is growing in popularity. Our program is open to rowers of all abilities, interests, and skill levels - from novices seeking a relaxing row on Lake Ramsey, to competitive rowers interested in national and international competition. The program operates year round; on the water from May through October, and indoors on the center's rowing machines throughout the year.

 

Adapted Sailing

Members will get a chance to be out on the water with the Sudbury Yacht Club learning how to sail.  This program is all inclusive and designed to accommodate the needs of people with varying abilities.

 

Adapted Skiing

This program is open to participants of all disabilities, interests and skill levels – from novices interested in learning how to cross country ski, to the more a competitive type, willing to challenge themselves to complete at a local, provincial, national or international level.  The program operates year round and includes  dryland training, cross country skiing, roller skiing, and strength training.
