What is the Employ-Ability Program?
The Employ-Ability Program offers an incredible learning opportunity for persons with physical disabilities. Delivered through the Independent Living Sudbury Manitoulin in partnership with the Neil Squire Society. This program focuses on assisting adults with disabilities who are seeking employable skills and long-term employment in the workforce.

Who We Serve:
Our program serves people with all types of physical disability. You may apply to enroll if you:
-Have a permanent or chronic disability that is a barrier to long-term employment
-Are of legal working age
-Are a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant

The Neil Squire Society Employ-Ability Program assists people with disabilities, using a unique combination of:
-End-to-end services, individual self-paced services and customized action plans to serve each client’s specific needs.
-Professional staff that are committed to helping each client reach his or her goals;
-Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of supports, accommodations, and adaptive technologies that are designed to facilitate successful transition to the workplace;
-Up to date knowledge of the ever-changing labour market.
12-Week Employability Program
Employ-Ability is a unique learning opportunity in a supportive learning environment. The program has a holistic approach comprised of three core modules that touch on every aspect of employment:
1) Career Development
2) Personal Wellness
3) Employment Liaison and Work Experience
While participating in this 12-week program, you can make a positive change in your life and learn new skills. Working with staff both in a group and one-on-one enables you to:

The placement process is different for every client. Your personal objective determines whether you are ready to job search, volunteer placement or if you will at first need to complete training.

About The Neil Squire Society:
The Neil Squire Society is a not-for-profit organization serving Canadians with physical disabilities. They promote the use of technology as a means of achieving an independent lifestyle and support programs, which offer technical training and computer skills development. Since their founding in 1984, the Neil Squire society has served over 20,000 people accross the country.
When you are ready for the employment or volunteer work…
The job developer will work with you to secure a part time, full time or volunteer placement.
Placement services include:
A resource centre and resume upgrade
Individual job search consultation and coaching
Individual coaching
Job placement marketing with employers
Assistance with workplace accommodations
Ongoing Support
Once you are working, your counselor will continue to provide support and on going, follow-up to ensure that you are properly established and feeling confident in your new job.
If You’re Career Plan Includes Training
Your counselor will assist you to develop the skills you need through formal education or on-the-job training.
